With beer being the most popular alcoholic drink in New Zealand, it should come as no surprise that the country is home to some excellent breweries. Nestled between the wineries where some of the world's best Sauvignon Blanc is produced, the craft breweries of New Zealand put together an excellent selection of brews, from the intensely-hopped IPAs to rich, chocolatey porters.
New Zealand is also where the Nelson Sauvin hop originates - a favourite of American pale ale brewers. The aroma of the Nelson Sauvin somewhat mimics the Sauvignon Blanc grape vibrant, zesty flavour profile, hence why the name is rather similar indeed.
